Aprilia Dorsoduro 1200
Below you’ll find all the pics and technical details of the new Dorsoduro 1200. Aprilia’s word of the day is fun and with the nifty chassis and 130 hp we’re inclined to believe them. Sifting through the marketing speak, we glean that the bigger Dorsoduro should build on the 750 model but provide a more high powered option in the street bike/supermoto mix.
The driving philosophy behind the new Dorsoduro 1200 is to often fun and precision on a high-powered maximotard. While Aprilia has opened its press release on the Dorsoduro 1200 with the same opening about racing history as the new RSV4 special edition, we assume this has got to do more with Piaggio’s new company plan to have Aprilia focus on performance sports bikes than any link to be made between the Dorsoduro and previous MotoGP wins. It’s the first time the 1200cc twin-cylinder engine has equipped this famous bike from Aprilia and we’re keen to see how it fares on the market. This particular version is all about high power in the agile chassis of the Dorsoduro. While we saw the Dorsoduro preview in Milan, here we get more pics and details on the new Dorsoduro take.
In addition to its electronic-oriented RSV4 Factory APRC SE, Aprilia also brought along the new Dorsoduro 1200. As we get down to deciding the best bike at the 2010 Intermot show, here are the final contenders for the crown.
